Not only can it lower the self- esteem of your child, it also may result in serious health problems. After 10 years of age, I started to eat all the junk food out there without thinking of the consequences. Everything that had sugar written all over it, disappeared (viewable around my mouth) in my stomach and with it tons of sugar in liquid form. At the age of 10 and further you do not think about the consequences, you just enjoy.</p>
<p>Why do I tell you that? I want to make sure that I know what your kid is going through and how hard it is to live with it.</p>

<p>But like I said in the beginning, the consequences might be devastating and result in:</p>
<p>* diabetes<br />
* high blood pressure<br />
* heart disease</p>
<p>30 years ago, at this time fast food restaurants were still more or less countable, we had 5 percent of obese kids. Today we are talking about 12- 15 percent of obese kids who are already suffering under diabetes and depression caused by weight gain.</p>
<p>What made the difference of those 7- 10 percent less obese kids?</p>
<p>The answer to that question is pretty simple. Back then, you were not able to choose between 100s of cable channels and computer games. Kids were forced to do more outdoor activities.Today kids are captured to the TV or the PC, outdoor activities became probably a one week event during physical education in school, sometimes not even there because some schools do not offer it anymore.</p>
<p>What to do?</p>
<p>1. Since you cannot really change the general system, you can start changing the system in your household.Start do help your kid to become more active again. But do not just tell him to play outside, find something that he or she likes and incorporate it into different activities. This way your kid has fun and does not even think about TV or PC. The problem is, kids do not know how to be active outside without getting bored at the same time. That is one of the reasons why he or she is sitting in front of the TV all day in the first place. I know what I am talking about&#8230; remember? I was such a kid and my mom was never at home, so I wasted my time in front of the TV.</p>
<p>2. Start drastically to decrease the fat of every meal that you cook. Start physical activities such as playing, but also target exercises like:</p>
<p>- jumping robe<br />
- at the beginning fast walking ( with the time increase to jogging)</p>
<p>This helps to lose fat and keeps it off. It has proven that physical activities also helps the mental state and helps to eliminate anxiety and depression. So it&#8217;s good for the body and the soul at the same time.</p>
<p>3. Do not force your child do to all this at once. Keep in mind, he probably has not done any kind of exercise for long or no time. According to his age start playing more outside with him as he or she is still younger. Later on keep on encouraging him to play more outside, or get him involved in whatever sport he likes to choose. Let him or her choose, otherwise he will not have fun and is more likely to quit very soon.<br />
Switch TV off, even you have to face an argument, but explain to him why you do it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All education professionals need to be flexible. This is especially true when teaching students with autism. During a half-hour piano lesson an instructor may be required to drastically change their reinforcement schedule, replace the current reinforcer(s) altogether, further individualize the material for a student or decide that behavior reduction has become an immediate priority (as opposed to the instructional material). What works for one student may not work for another and what doesn&#8217;t affect one student&#8217;s performance may drastically improve another&#8217;s. And then there&#8217;s what will work for tomorrow&#8217;s lesson.</p>
<p>There are very few rules and many, many guidelines. While defining a successful teaching strategy for each student is challenging, determining what &#8217;success&#8217; is for that student can also be arbitrary and hard to nail down. Is a student successful when they play a song independently? Or should the criteria be that they also perform the piece without any mistakes? Perhaps, playing and performing piano pieces are only a means to an end. Is the act of focusing and practicing, constructively for increasing amounts of time the true benefit? What about the possible social skills development resulting from learning and performing music in the community?</p>
<p><span id="more-342"></span></p>
<p>I am inclined to state that these are all stages of a student&#8217;s individual development and therefore levels of success, but that is not true. At least, it is not accurate to assign a relative quality of success to each level for all students. While a student&#8217;s performance can be measured to reflect his or her progress it is more difficult to quantify the benefits associated with the process in general. What is the impact on his current and future peer&#8217;s perception of them after finding out that they are learning the piano? Or, what is the affect on society&#8217;s perception in general for that matter? How has practicing the piano benefited their fine-motor and hand-eye-coordination skills in respect to other instruction programs? While these questions are more challenging to answer, it is the teacher&#8217;s responsibility to definitively decide just what each student&#8217;s immediate definition of success is. For some students this is defined as playing with multiple fingers or introducing the skill of playing with the left hand or possibly fading a prompt. The relative difficulty associated with any of these phases of instruction is as unique as each student is unique.</p>
<p>Therefore, all students&#8217; progress through individualized phases of instruction, but these phases may or may not be leading to the same goal for each student. If you imagine a teaching phase as a rung in a ladder, each step is leading toward a goal; yet the path that each student uses can be very unique. For instance, all of our students are initially taught to read musical notation. A certain percentage of our students have not yet met the given criterion which indicates that they have an understanding of this skill. Instead of discontinuing that student&#8217;s education at the piano, his &#8216;ladder&#8217; adjusts and a new set of material is provided which will allow him or her to appropriately interact with the piano and play new and challenging pieces. The skill of reading musical notation is still reviewed and practiced. It is the teacher&#8217;s goal to make this skill clearer to him by adjusting the curriculum. In the meantime, though, he is developing his fine-motor skills, participating in a structured activity and shares the possibility of future involvement in the musical community.</p>
<p>It is appropriate for instructors to focus on skill acquisition in the early stages of a student&#8217;s development at the piano. This allows them the chance to generalize the skill across locations, teachers and materials &#8211; i.e. practicing at home, with his or her parent/guardian and on a new keyboard. At a certain point though, all students would benefit from a structured and supervised system of community involvement. This could be a parent/guardian bringing the student to a musical performance or on a trip to a museum with a friend. For the vast majority of all students who pursue the piano, the instrument eventually provides an enriching hobby or pastime. Our goal is not to foster virtuosi or seek out prodigies at the piano.</p>
<p>Rather, it is to develop a skill which will provide the opportunity to further enhance the student&#8217;s life. The other factor would be society&#8217;s perception. Fairly or unfairly, people often make judgments on an individual based on their abilities/interests. An understanding of core educational curriculum is important but sometimes learning that a person enjoys baseball or hiking is much more indicative of how you will get along. To a certain degree, I think most of our clients who decide to begin piano instruction for their child understands this and view the process as beneficial in that way. I must stress though that the goal of all of our teachers is to challenge the student appropriately and allow objective data to indicate just what immediate and future success is for that student. Unfortunately, I have found that the more challenged a student is the more that his challenges end-up defining what success is for him. All students should be given the opportunity to succeed, regardless of behavioral or comprehension challenges, based on objective standards instead of this subjective assessment.</p>
<p>Therefore, while it is important to initially challenge all students equally, it is just as important to individualize each student&#8217;s development going ahead. I feel that a good example of this is a recent student who was diagnosed with autism and visual impairment. Going into the lesson, the degree of both these challenges was unknown to myself or the teacher. After concluding the initial baseline (which measures the student&#8217;s ability to read musical notes and identify the keys of the piano {the result was 0% correct}) I decided to try some discrimination trials. The student correctly identified several letters over 3 or 4 trials when he was requested to &#8220;Point to G&#8221;, &#8220;Point to F&#8221;, etc. At that point we can objectively determine that the current material is appropriate for him and proceed with instruction. It does not mean that the material will not have to be individualized along the way, though. It would be seem to be very understandable for a teacher to determine that, based on this student&#8217;s challenges, it would be best to incorporate brail, teach the piano &#8216;by ear&#8217; or adjust the standard immediately. It would seem to be understandable but it would not be fair to the student.</p>

<p>Most of us recognize the need to purify our drinking water. We don&#8217;t want to consume toxins, to ingest microbes or to risk the development of a cancer every time we satisfy our thirst. We recognize that a host of environmental challenges puts our drinking water at risk and we&#8217;re prepared to take action to protect ourselves.</p>

<p>Traditional Stress Management techniques can be a very valuable adjunct to Quantum Biofeedback. Traditional methods may include techniques such as cognitive therapy, autogenic training, time management, exercise, deep breathing, yoga, meditation, artistic expression and music therapy, to name a few.</p>

<p>Conventional methods of Stress Management such as cognitive therapy or autogenic training gradually work away at a particular issue. <p>Satya means truthfulness. It  encompasses accuracy of speech, ideas and deeds. Its practice involves  honesty, owning feelings, adoring communication, assertiveness,  providing constructive suggestions, forgiveness, non-judging, and the  releasing of masks. Satya can be defined by the following quote: &#8220;The  elf of the tongue desires the giant to operate it&#8221; &#8211; Bapuji. Honesty can  be used as a weapon, so be cautious to be compassionate. It&#8217;s not about  being &#8220;right.&#8221; Love is greater than truth. &#8220;Brutal Honesty&#8221; is not  truth. If LOVE guides the way you use truth then you&#8217;re exercising  Satya. Ahimsa (non-violence) must be practiced together with Satya.  Principles and notions keep us from the actual truth, keep it dirty.  Learn to be accepting just like a newborn. Don&#8217;t let Ego get in the way  of Heart.</p>

<p>Asteya is a yoga yama that emphasizes non-stealing, not  coveting, and not being jealous. Its practice involves making use of  objects the proper way, such as proper time management. With Asteya you  must Develop a sense of completeness, self-sufficiency, and forget about  cravings. If you value material items excessively, this lure will come  upon you from time to time; release that false value. Should you achieve  what you need by sincere means, you should have no worries. Should you  attain what you want by unethical means, you will live with fear.</p>
<p>Brahmacharya  is a yoga yama that teaches the channeling of feelings, moderation in  all things, and self-containment. It involves no overindulgence of  thoughts, intelligence, conversation or human body; moderation on all  levels concerning sex, foods, and all facets of everyday life. This is  the most misunderstood Yama, so I will spend more time defining the  meaning of it. The practice of brahmacharya does not necessarily mean  complete repression, but rather control of sensual urges. It&#8217;s defining  principle is gratifying our desires for pleasure through food, sex,  television and other hobbies conceals the emptiness inside. That  emptiness is spiritual hunger. Our own soul wants satisfaction. There  are many levels of our being, and we often don&#8217;t take a holistic method  of fulfillment on each one of these levels. We frequently simply view  the simplest, surface level requirements and attempt to fulfill  ourselves on a physical level. &#8220;Brahma&#8221; means the originator and  &#8220;Charya&#8221; means teacher or guide. The term Brahmacharya is derived from  the two words Brahma and acharya or even charya (take your own pick).  Brahma is actually God as the creator or progenitor, acharya is teacher  and charya means wedded to. Therefore you could say brahmacharya means  getting wedded to Brahma or &#8220;to remain attached to the source&#8221; or to  stay continuous with it. Brahmacharya follows this motto: &#8220;This day, I  am moderate, centered, and complete. I personally use my energy in ways  which lead me nearer to my Source. I treat myself and other people with  respect, knowing the natural Divinity of all folks.&#8221; Neither worrying  nor repressing, make peace along with your sensual desires or virtually  any interests which pull you off-center from the Source. Avoid  overindulgence of thoughts, intelligence, conversation, and body.</p>
<p>Developing  Stages:</p>
<p>1. Self-containment by means of reasonable sexuality as  well as diet.</p>
<p>2. Absolutely no thoughts of previous or future  sense pleasures.</p>
<p>3. Freedom from attachment to pleasures.</p>
<p>4.  Free of duality as well as the illusion that you&#8217;re incomplete.</p>
<p>5.  Internal serenity.</p>
<p>6. Continuous inner fervor, exchanging outward  emphasis of sensual/sexual energies.</p>
<p>Be reasonable in moderation  also so it is not really a burden. It is a beautiful practice. It is  regarding moderating the extreme conditions and not desiring too much  (consumerism). Brahmacharya yoga brings out the fire in your spirit. A  lot of energies come up. If it comes up, allow it to burn &#8211; smothering  issues just makes these smolder. Once they re-emerge they will be  hotter. Once they arise, observe exactly what the issues are, and move  deeper to your own true motives.</p>

The World Health Organization estimated that in 2007 1.1 Billion people died worldwide because of unsafe H2O Many of us now use home filters or drink bottled but are you aware of the pure water technology that occurs before it even arrives through pipes into our homes?</p>
<p>There are a number of places in the world that our H2O starts life before it is deemed safe to use in our homes. The government of each country usually sets the standards for the safety of H20 before it can be consumed. Rain that has fallen over many decades and has filtered through rocks is one of the sources of our domestic supply.</p>
<p><span id="more-336"></span></p>
<p>The length of time and the depth that it has been filtered too means that rain is fairly free of contaminants but may need further treatments to remove the unpleasant taste of iron or maganese. Highland reservoirs are quite bacteria free too, though require treatment due to it&#8217;s low pH.</p>
<p>Rivers and canals have a high level of bacteria and other contaminants and require significant treatment. The first stage of treatment is to filter large debris such as leaves and sticks from the liquid. The fluid is then stored, as nature biologically purifies it when it is stored for a certain length of time. After this comes the adjustment of pH levels in the water. This is done with lime, soda ash or sodium hydroxide.</p>
<p>After this comes a process called flocculation. This treatment clarifies the water and renders it clear and colorless. For this process to be successful the fluid is passed through sand and treated coal. After these processes there is usually a layer of &#8217;sludge&#8217; that lays at the bottom of the treatment area In fact 3-5% of water at this stage is this sludge.</p>
<p>The treatment and removal of this sludge is often the most expensive and lengthy of the whole treatment process. The final part of the treatment is that the fluid is passed at great force through sand and activated charcoal, this ensures the cleanliness of the liquid, and here the treatment is complete.</p>
<p>There is some debate about the safety of the water that comes into our homes after this treatment and therefore many people choose to use home filtration systems to make sure of health and safety for drinking, cooking and showering.</p>

<p>When i was in college i began to meditate, after school i used to take the subway to a meditation center in the east side of Manhattan. Every Time i would enter the meditation center, the smell of incense used to calm me down and then i knew i was in a special place. A place where i can be peaceful. And as i would start meditating, i could feel my breath and my mind slow down. I began to get frustrated to find that i couldn&#8217;t relax and have the same quality of meditation i experienced there on the mat me and my friends shared. In the years i have been meditating i started noticing that the environment surrounding your meditation, where you sit, what you wear or the energy that you invest, will have an impact on your meditation. Trying to relax while counting your breathe in a busy environment can be a challenge, but you will go deeper fastest in a place where you can have some quiet time. In this modern time we are constantly being bombarded with stimulation, like TV, music, radio etc.. and it can be hard to find the place or even time to meditate, so what i do is meditate with music, no i don&#8217;t mean that heavy metal CD sitting on your car, what i listen to is slow jazz, or some kind of rhythm that will slow me down. So by i means you could use your favorite CD to slow your mind down. When you have successfully slowed down you can move on to your quiet space, and if your mind starts to wander, bring it back to the music.</p>
<p>What to wear when meditating.</p>
<p>This may seem like an easy one, but you may be surprised when you go to a meditation center and people show up with jeans, which makes it impossible to cross your legs or even breathe right. One should wear loose clothing to be able to breath deeply and keep your circulation going in the right way.</p>
<p>The right time to meditate?</p>
<p>The tradition is to meditate one hour after one wakes up, or the best time will be before the sun come up. Your mind is awake and well rested by sleep, and usually after you wake up your mind isn&#8217;t obsessing and worrying yet, so you can stay more focused and you may find it easier to stay present. The benefits to meditating when you wake up is that you set the tone for a peaceful and less stressing day. People may take an hour or two to fully wake up from an eight hour rest, and others find it easy to roll right out of bed, drink their morning coffee and rush right out to work. If you are the kind of person that has a hard time getting up and is in a bad mood it may be better for you to meditate before going to bed, if fact that&#8217;s what i do. When i meditate before going to sleep i find that my sleep is way more restful and i need less of it to wake up energized. There is a downside to meditating before bed, you may be too tired or stressed at the end of the day and may want to go right to sleep. If you are a parent and spend all your free time taking care of the kids, from school, activities, sports, dinner etc.. what you can do is instead of reading the newspaper or watching TV you can meditate instead. Sex is similar to meditation in many ways, and one of them is that you may want it to be short, quick, long or slow. When you apply this comparison to meditation, you will get the drift, if you are not able to set the half an hour to meditate for a couple minuets. Setting five to ten minuet meditation periods once a day is better than meditating one hour a week even though you may want to do both. The best way to find out what best suits you is to try a bunch of different options.</p>
<p>How long to meditate</p>
<p>When you are a beginner a couple of minuets may seem like an eternity, if you are just starting off you can increase the time of your sittings as your interest and enjoyment grows. When your body and mind start to slow down your time is up, that may be a sign that your meditation muscle is getting stronger and may need to extent your sitting time. Most people may need several minuets to start settling, so when you get to the point where you are meditating 15 to 20 minuets try doing it for a couple of weeks at a time to build your concentration. As your concentration begins to strengthen you will begin to settle faster into a focused and relaxed mind. When you are at the point where your can sit for thirty to forty minutes at a time each day by all means do it regularly, and you will understand why most meditation teachers recommend the long stretch. Regular practice is better than meditating a long time one day than abstaining the rest of the week.</p>

<p>Instead of taking the dangerous sulfa drugs and steroids I decided to detoxify my body and use the tools that were put here on earth for our use (herbs, plants, vegetables, and fruits) to get healthy again.</p>
<p>Today I&#8217;m going to share a few of the natural supplements that I used back then to restore my health, which also happen to be the most powerful supplements on the planet. You won&#8217;t find these in the muscle mags, and most supplement companies refuse to sell them, but I used them back then and I still use these to this day to keep my body healthy and strong!</p>
<p>Note: you do not need to have a stomach problem or be sick to use these supplements. These natural supplements are beneficial to everyone and can help you get healthier and stay that way forever!</p>
<p>Acidophilus &#8211; Healthy colon flora should consist of roughly 85% lactobacilli and 15% coliform bacteria. Sadly, the average colon has those numbers flipped around and this can lead to a host of unpleasant symptoms including: GI toxicity, nutrient malabsorption, indigestion, gas, bloating, and more. Lactobacillus acidophilus is a &#8220;friendly&#8221; bacteria that can help you fight back against the &#8220;bad&#8221; bacteria by helping to restore the healthy balance of intestinal flora. It also aids digestion, lowers blood cholesterol levels, and can help you absorb more nutrients. Take it on an empty stomach before breakfast and about an hour before each meal.</p>
<p>Alfalfa &#8211; As one of the purest and most mineral rich foods on the planet, alfalfa is one of my top superfoods. Because of the fact it is so deep rooted (its roots can grow up to 130 feet deep) it picks up a ton of trace elements like phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, silicon, calcium, iron, and potassium, plus a boatload of other helpful vitamins and minerals, as well as digestive enzymes, and amino acids. Are you kidding me? Add Alfalfa to your rotation asap.</p>
<p>Aloe Vera &#8211; I like to take this as a juice because it cleanses the digestive tract and improves digestion. Efficient digestion is important for nutrient absorption, which as you know is very important when training. Aloe vera also helps heal gastro intestinal disorders such as constipation, ulcers, colitis, and various conditions of the colon. Plus it fights infections, holds varicose veins in check, and fights arthritis.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a powerful toxin removing technique you can try using aloe vera juice: combine psyllium husk with aloe vera juice. It cleans out the pockets and folds of the colon and promotes normal function and balance. Aloe vera juice definitely lives up to the hype, plus some. Note: when drinking aloe vera juice, opt for brands that are 98 or 99 percent pure.</p>
<p>Barley Grass &#8211; This amazing supplement is a very good anti-inflammatory, plus it is chock full of all the essential amino acids. It is also high in iron, vitamin C, vitamin B12, calcium, flavonoids, chlorophyll, as well as helpful enzymes and minerals. I used barley grass quite extensively when I was sick with great results as it helps heal colon, stomach, and duodenal disorders. But don&#8217;t skip out on barley grass just because you don&#8217;t have a stomach problem! It has a ton of awesome benefits.</p>
<p>Chlorella &#8211; Chlorella is an edible alga which is very high in vitamin B12 (it contains all of the B vitamins), but also contains vitamins C &amp; E, rare trace minerals, protein, and amino acids. If you choose not to eat meat, you can try supplementing with chlorella because it is essentially a complete food.</p>
<p>Chlorophyll &#8211; Chlorophyll is essentially the green pigment in leaves that absorbs sunlight and converts it into energy. This is what I like to call the &#8220;lifeblood&#8221; of plants. I like to drink chlorophyll rich juices made from raw foods because of their cleansing effect of the lymph, blood, and intracellular fluid. Chlorophyll will help your body digest food better, absorb nutrients more efficiently, and boost your energy levels.</p>
<p>Coenzyme Q10 &#8211; Studies have shown that over 75% of folks over the age of 50 are deficient in coenzyme Q10. A deficiency can result in poor blood circulation which can result in heart disease.</p>
<p>Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) &#8211; Contrary to popular myth, the body does need fat. It just needs the right KIND of fat. If you only take one supplement, make it Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are probably the most underrated, yet most powerful fat loss and health boosting supplement in the world. These &#8220;miracle&#8221; fats can increase metabolic rate, reduce blood pressure, reduce the risk of developing cancer and heart disease, reduce stress, protect from bone loss, improve mood, reduce inflammation and pain in joints, and much more.</p>
<p>It is very important to supplement with EFAs because they are necessary for health and they cannot be made by the human body. A few of my favorite EFAs are flaxseeds and flaxseed oil, fish oils, primrose oil, and grape seed oil.</p>
<p>Fiber &#8211; Because of the processing and refining of most of our food these days, the average American diet is desperately deficient in fiber. Foods such as whole grains, beans, fresh raw veggies, nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, and lentils are very high in fiber and should be eaten on a daily basis.</p>
<p>Due to the host of positive benefits of a high fiber diet (fiber helps prevent obesity, stabilizes blood sugar levels, prevents constipation, helps prevent colon cancer, lowers blood cholesterol levels, etc), I recommend everyone take a fiber supplement because it can be close to impossible to get enough fiber from a normal diet these days.</p>
<p>Be sure to stay within the 20-30 grams daily range as an overdose of fiber can decrease the absorption of important nutrients and give you painful gas, cramps, and bloating.</p>
<p>Note: Fiber can decrease the effectiveness and strength of medications and supplements when taken at the same time. Note: Don&#8217;t use one of the crappy fiber supplements that contains any ingredient other than 100% psyllium husk. It is pointless to take a &#8220;healthy supplement&#8221; that is loaded with garbage ingredients like artificial sweeteners and additives.</p>
<p>Garlic &#8211; Garlic has been one of the top supplements in the world for over 2000 years. It is a shame more people don&#8217;t harness the power of it! As a potent immune system booster and natural antibiotic, garlic can also reduce your risk of heart attack, fight cancer, destroy various viruses, as well has a host of other benefits. It is said that the allicin in garlic (the antibacterial property) has an effect equal to 1% of penicillin! You can use fresh cloves or use my personal favorite, the Kyolic supplement made by Wakunaga.</p>
<p>Kelp &#8211; Kelp is a type of seaweed and I like to use it as a salt substitute sometimes, not only because I like the taste, but because it is so rich in vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. I highly recommend using kelp, especially if you have thyroid problems</p>
<p>Kombucha Tea &#8211; This miracle tea is believed to have the power to reverse the aging process. I cannot personally vouch for this because I&#8217;ve got that young gene thing going on so you may have to ask me in 10 or 20 years lol. I love kombucha tea because it contains a host of health boosting substances, gives me a nice energy boost, and is a natural detoxifier.</p>
<p>Spirulina &#8211; If you want to look up superfood, look no further than spirulina. The concentrations of nutrients in spirulina are more than any plant, grain, or herb in the world. I&#8217;m talking, vitamin B12, chlorophyll, gamma-linolenic acid, iron, essential amino acids, and more! The high protein content in spirulina can also help stabilize blood sugar levels between meals and I like to use it in my raw juices.</p>
<p>Wheatgrass &#8211; Wheatgrass is real fuel from whole food that helps metabolic functions and it is chock full of minerals and enzymes. It contains protein, provitamin A, prostaglandins, trace elements, and chlorophyll. The nutritional value of this powerful supplement is off the charts!</p>
<p>Some experts have even said that one pound of wheatgrass is equal to about 25 pounds of the best vegetables! If there is a &#8220;miracle&#8221; supplement out there, I would have to say it is this one. I like to put wheatgrass in my raw juices or just hit up my local health food store or Whole Foods Market for a wheat grass shot!</p>
<p>Whey Protein &#8211; Ahhh yes I saved the best for last! Good ole whey protein&#8230;Maaaa the protein! Ok you may not know that joke but for those who do, I hope you got a good L-O-L out of it.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll probably already know that whey protein helps build lean muscle, but I bet you didn&#8217;t know that whey protein can also enhance immune function, protect against free radical damage, and in some studies it has appeared to inhibit the increase of cancer cells! When you train hard in the gym, you need to eat more protein, and if you don&#8217;t get the amount you need from food, you won&#8217;t make the progress you want.</p>

<p>Firstly, it makes sense because the mind and body are inextricably connected, and your mental state exerts a huge influence over your physical health. Sure, most people depend on drugs and surgery to deal with illness; after all, this approach has the backing of science, and is what just about everybody does. Sound has always been a crucial element of meditation healing and the various meditation techniques. The idea of MP3s is to assist in guided meditation. To settle the incessant, inner chatter that we all have and allow us to seek the outer, within.</p>
<p>My problem with meditation is quieting my mind. I sit in a darkened room, sometimes with a candle for company, and think about not thinking. Although I have meditated on and off for years, I must admit that often meditation can be a chore. My mind wanders to what I am having for dinner. Have I fed the dog. What do I have to do at work tomorrow. Occasionally, I will realize that I have been elsewhere for a time. But not very often.</p>
<p><span id="more-332"></span></p>
<p>MP3 meditation downloads use Binaural, Monaural and Isochronic tones to induce a deep meditative state. In a later article I will discuss the differences between these tones. For now, if you are interested, I suggest you Google them. They are a repetitive tone, somewhat like the soft whoomp! of a ceiling fan, which pulses in the background to a soundtrack of music, water and wind. The effect is both soothing and hypnotic.</p>
<p>What I notice is that one of two things happens while I listen to the download. Either, before I know it, the download has finished and I realize that my mind has been somewhere else for the previous 30 minutes. Or, the sounds seem to go on for hours and I return to them occasionally and think, &#8220;Still going.&#8221;</p>
<p>From successful personal experience, I can say that the MP3 meditation downloads are a very useful aide to both beginners meditation and for the more experienced.</p>

<p>There are various remedies to stop snoring these days. Be patient in finding out which ones are good for you and which ones should be avoided.</p>
<p>Start solving the problem the natural way by changing sleeping habits. Sleep with the proper posture, use pillows, sleep sideways to let air flow freely. If the snoring problem carries on try changing eating habits and lose weight if necessary. It will not just improve your physique but it will also give you good health.</p>

In pregnancy, kidneys leak sugar out of your bloodstream and into your urine, in what is known as a &#8220;reduced renal threshold&#8221; for glucose. So it is quite common for pregnant women to leak some glucose, especially after a big meal or a sweet drink, and for this to be picked up by urine tests. However, if the urine tests show persistent large amounts of glucose leaking, and/or you feel lethargic, unwell, thirsty, and are losing weight, then your doctor or midwife should carry out a blood test to check for diabetes.</p>

<p>If you are on insulin, this does not mean your baby is more likely to get diabetes? If you have type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes your baby is not any more likely to develop the condition. It just means that the baby may be exposed to higher levels of glucose crossing the placenta from you. There is, however, a weak link in families for type 2 (adult-onset) diabetes.</p>
<p>Why do some women develop diabetes in pregnancy? The extra strain on your metabolism means that the pancreas needs to produce extra insulin. This is partly because of the extra energy needs of the baby, and partly because the placenta produces hormones that can prevent insulin from working properly. In some women, this extra insulin is not produced, leading to gestational diabetes. This almost always gets better afterward; if you take insulin for the first time during pregnancy, it is highly likely you will be able to stop this immediately after the birth.</p>
<p>The tablets used to treat diabetes should not be used in pregnancy: it is safer and better to change over to insulin injections. The effects of these tablets could become unpredictable in pregnancy, and because they are often very long lasting, difficult to reverse. They may also cross to the baby, affecting its blood sugar levels.</p>
<p>Are diabetic babies more likely to get stuck during delivery? Most diabetic women are able to have a normal vaginal delivery. However, very large babies may get their shoulders stuck under the pelvic bones at delivery. This is known as &#8220;shoulder dystocia&#8221; and can be dangerous for the baby, leading to damaged nerve fibers in the shoulder and arm, broken bones, and, rarely, death of the baby. If a baby is thought to be very large before delivery, a cesarean section may be advised.</p>

<p>You will also be required to put in your health insurance claim number, some basic information about your doctor and his or her National Plan Identification (NPI) number as well as the coding system number of the type of chair that is covered. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most people have heard about autism and it is a recognizable childhood constraint that is not so uncommon that you are never likely to come across somebody who suffers with autism: in fact, as many as 1 in every 110 individuals is autistic, with a higher incidence of males to females. There is no need to avoid people with autism, however, as they can&#8217;t pass it on to you and you can&#8217;t catch it from them no matter what you do or how close you get. Autism is something sufferers are born with. It is regarded as a disorder that affects the child&#8217;s development due to the activities of the brain being affected.</p>
<p>In fact, autism fits into a group of developmental conditions that has become known, in recent years, as PDD, or pervasive developmental disorder. The best known one of these PDDs is autism which is the reason that this group of developmental disorders is often referred to as ASD, or autism spectrum disorder. This often causes problems with communication and the normal childhood milestones. It also results in a person with autism having problems with social interactions, sometimes having an intelligence that is lower than average, or having an intelligence that is higher than average. People who are known to be autistic have great difficulty relating to people at an everyday level, with children often experiencing hindered language development.</p>
<p><span id="more-325"></span></p>
<p>Sensory perception is also affected, with altered states of awareness, lighter and brighter colors, louder sounds and more intense smells: in fact, everything experienced appears to be at a more profound intensity than individuals without this developmental disability. Another well-known condition that comes within the aegis of PDD is Asperger syndrome, whilst Rett Syndrome and CDD [childhood disintegrative disorder] are two lesser known developmental disorders within this particular spectrum of medical disorders.</p>
<p>Is it Known how Autism Occurs?</p>
<p>Autism affects each sufferer differently and, for every person with autism, there is a different degree of affliction, some having autistic symptoms that are very mild whilst others are very profoundly affected. It is this wide spectrum that causes doctors to believe that autism is partly due to genetics and partly due to influencing environmental aspects. So far researchers have established that autism is not caused by any viral infection and, although a family with one autistic child is more likely to have another, they know autism doesn&#8217;t occur as the result of anything the parents have done when raising their children.</p>
<p>Within our brains there are 100 billion neurons. These neurons, or nerve cells, carry electrical impulses that jump across little gaps between the many thousands of connections. These gaps are called synapses. The way electrical currents can jump across synapses is due to a biochemical process that lowers the number of potassium chemicals [potassium ions] on one side of the synapse whilst, at the same time, increasing the number of sodium ions. This is referred to as &#8216;opening the gateway&#8217;.</p>
<p>When the gateway opens, there is an exchange of ions from one neuron to the next, enabling the electrical impulse to jump across the gap. The gateway then closes behind it and another gateway opens in front of it. In this way an electrical impulse leaves the brain and will travel to different parts of the body. All our senses depend on these electrical impulses, including communication and how we behave. The gateways are affected by the quantity of chemical messengers the brain sends out: these are called neurotransmitters and they are chemicals as well.</p>
<p>There are lots of different kinds, such as dopamine and serotonin, although there are many more. Each one interacts with another one and they all rely on a very delicate balance between all of them, so it is hardly surprising that, sometimes, things don&#8217;t go exactly according to plan and something gets mixed up or misfires. This can cause problems such as autism.</p>
<p>Other from that, research continues. At present doctors and researchers still don&#8217;t know for sure why some children develop autism and why some children don&#8217;t. Furthermore, there are no tests that can identify whether a child is exhibiting autistic symptoms or not. Usually, autism is identified when a child is aged between 18 months and 4 years, often by doctors ruling out other causes for the child&#8217;s lack of spontaneity or development.</p>
<p>The diagnosis eventually rests on experts&#8217; observation of the child&#8217;s behavior and presence or absence of communication. Eventually, the diagnosis is established by listening to the parents&#8217; observations of how their child responds within the home environment, along with reports from neurologists, child psychologists and pediatricians. Ultimately, these reports are considered along with the known childhood milestones, enabling a pattern of persistent behavior to emerge.</p>
<p>Living with Autism</p>
<p>Autism is a developmental disorder for which there is no cure. However, the effects of the autism can often be minimized by teaching the child how to cope with it. The child develops specific skills for coping with the problem, eventually learning how to minimize the effects of autism in their lives and their surrounding family. Despite this, there is no getting away from the potentially devastating effects autism can have on how the surrounding family is able to cope. Some families manage better than others, but the sooner treatment begins the sooner a child with autism can begin to adapt to the incomprehensible world they have found themselves in.</p>
<p>As the child grows it becomes evident how the autism is affecting them: this will affect the kind of treatment they will be offered. Treatment will be managed within the team allocated as being responsible for that child. This team will be made up of child psychologists, pediatricians, neurologists and probably social workers, as well as other ancillary professionals such as speech therapists and behavioral therapists amongst others.</p>
<p>Treatment for an autistic child will be organized to make the most of the skills they have, and maximizing the skills they need to have to be able to cope with their lives. Such therapies may include speech therapy, occupational therapy and even music therapy and may, or may not, also include course of medications as well. Another therapy that is becoming particularly popular due to its efficacy is art therapy. Although many children with autism eventually succeed within mainstream education, some autistic children are better suited to being educated at a special school that can cope with behavioral difficulties.</p>
<p>Behavioral Difficulties</p>
<p>A person growing up with autism will always be aware that they are living in an incomprehensible world. Hopefully, however, by the time they are adults they should have developed the skills to deal with most problems they may encounter, although this isn&#8217;t always the case. It is important to remember that the brains of people with autism function differently to everybody else, including many of the fellow sufferers. Social cues such as body language and facial expressions can cause them perplexity, causing them to behave in a manner that may seem strange. Their behavior may even make you feel uncomfortable and prefer to avoid them. Basically, however, somebody growing up with autism doesn&#8217;t have the social skills to pick up the unspoken cues that people around them provide all the time.</p>
<p>Frustration can be a big problem for children with autism because they are unable to express themselves adequately. They may want to make friends but be unable to do so because they don&#8217;t know how to go about it. This can cause tantrums or behavior that could be perceived as aggression, or they may behave in ways that could be interpreted as inappropriate, causing the recipient of such behavior to feel very uncomfortable indeed. Although people with autism don&#8217;t experience emotions and want to show affection, their interpretation of how this affection should be shown is an individual experience. It is one that could probably not be accepted as the &#8216;norm&#8217;, perhaps if you hug them they will pull away because they don&#8217;t like the experience of being touched.</p>
<p>Sudden noises can cause people with autism to become easily startled as their senses are greatly heightened. They respond best to routines as changes in their daily pattern of living can cause them to become extremely anxious: rigorous routine helps them to maintain a degree of control over their lives that, in many ways, are dominated by the will of somebody else&#8217;s control. There are some individuals with autism for whom repetitive movements represent their fragile control over their lives and, to them, mean that the world will be all right that day. Different objects and ideas can represent real occurrences in their lives: perhaps avoiding all foods with a certain color, or counting the number of red cars they pass on the way to school: a certain number meaning it will be a good day and a different number resulting in a bad day, with all subsequent emotion and behavior stemming from these arbitrary encounters.</p>
