It is an anti-inflammatory medication which is commonly used for pain and swelling caused by arthritis and injuries such as breaks and sprains. Many times a higher dose is prescribed by a physician. Usually, this is on a short term basis.</p>
<p>The most common Ibuprofen side effects are in the digestive system. Many people have nausea, heartburn or indigestion after taking ibuprofen. Consumption of ibuprofen can also lead to instances of gas or cramps. But it can also have either extreme effect of constipation or diarrhea. Usually, if there are any ibuprofen side effects they fall into this category.</p>

<p>If symptoms persist, an ulcer and bleeding internally can occur. Older people tend to be more likely to develop these types of ibuprofen side effects. Taking food with a dose of ibuprofen seems to help alleviate the milder gastrointestinal issues. Eating food with ibuprofen protects the wall of the stomach. Ibuprofen tends to tear down the lining of the stomach.</p>
<p>Other common ibuprofen side effects include ringing in the ears, itching, nervousness or headaches. Some people may experience fluid retention and even loss of appetite. It is possible that ingesting ibuprofen can cause drowsiness, dizziness or a general light headed feeling. A few cases are reported where a person experienced confusion after taking ibuprofen.</p>
<p>A few less common ibuprofen side effects are insomnia, depression or sores in the mouth. Some have reported symptoms such as hair loss and anemia. Other effects of taking ibuprofen include heart palpitations and meningitis. These are not frequently observed, but have been reported in cases by those taking ibuprofen.</p>
<p>Long term use of ibuprofen can have harmful effects on the body. It is hard on both the liver and the kidney. There are also cardiovascular issues that can develop from long term use. These can be very serious ibuprofen side effects.</p>
<p>Ibuprofen cannot be taken by people who are allergic to the drug. There are several symptoms of allergic reactions. Commonly the first one that begins is difficulty in breathing. It may feel like some one is sitting on your chest, or like you cannot take a deep breath. Your body may react to ibuprofen by breaking out with a rash or with an elevator fever. Less noticeable is a sudden drop in your blood pressure. If you think you may be having an allergic reaction to ibuprofen stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor.<br />
If you experience any of the ibuprofen side effects described above it is always best to consult with your doctor or health care professional. Most of the time ibuprofen side effects are not present, but paying careful attention to your body&#8217;s warning signs can prevent serious conditions.</p>

<p>You may not know that the skin on our lips is sensitive and delicate. Not many people realize this, but you can get a sunburn of sorts on your lips. Sunlight damages our lips. Smoking can make the skin darker. You should never leave the house without sunscreen on your lips. If you smoke, you are even more at risk. Cigarettes dehydrate the skin on your lips. Sunscreen helps to hydrate them while it is also keeping the sun&#8217;s harmful rays from burning them. Sunscreen can also counter the darkening of your lips, which can be unattractive on many people.</p>

<p>The skin on your lips need exfoliating routinely, just like the skin on your face. You can take a toothbrush and scrub gently. Make circles with the brush and your lips will be exfoliated. The dead skin cells will fall away and your lips will be oh so soft. After exfoliation, be sure to moisturize your lips. Do not forget this important step. If you leave this step off, your lips will dry out more than they were before.</p>
<p>Rose water and sugar is a great way to exfoliate your lips. It will make them softer, but they will also be kissable and taste sweet as well. It will be more difficult to scratch your lips as you exfoliate if you do it this way. Rose water and sugar is not drying to the skin of the lips either. If you wanted to exfoliate daily with rose water and sugar, you could do that without concern that you would be harmed.</p>
<p>Make sure you consume lots of water every day. If you are dehydrated, it will show on your lips before it shows anywhere else. If your lips are rough, dry, or chapped, drink water. This will alleviate the drying that causes chapping. The skin on your lips should glow. This gives your face a radiance that can&#8217;t come from anything else.</p>
<p>Prior to applying lipstick, put on some lip balm. This keeps the skin on your lips from sustaining any damage from the lipstick itself. Plus, your lipstick will appear fresher all day long. Try this trick and see.</p>
<p>It can take some time to recover the healthy skin you want on your lips. Stay with these treatments and watch your lips glow.</p>

<p>There are two ways to battle migraine symptoms. The first is called preventive treatment wherein the person may take medications to minimize migraine occurrences. The other is called pain-relieving or abortive treatments which aim to lessen the pain and symptoms experienced during migraine episodes. Continuous usage of either treatment is not a cure to migraine, but an effective method to handle migraines.</p>
<p>When migraine frequency is more than twice a week, acute treatment may need to be employed. This may come both in form of symptoms prevention or pain-specific treatments. Some available forms of symptoms prevention are beta blockers, anticonvulsants and calcium channels blockers. Pain specific treatments are usually acetaminophen and other non-prescription drugs. Non-traditional approaches such as acupuncture and head massages are also considered acute treatment methods.</p>
<p>The cure to migraine, in the form of acute treatment procedures may not be advisable to pregnant women, children or adolescents and persons with other conditions like heart, liver and kidney problems other than migraine disease. Some treatments may have side effects that may be critical and worsen the current condition of migraine sufferers.</p>
<p>Several of the migraine triggers identified are stress, skipping meals and sometimes, even weather and flashing lights. Alcohols and some food additives also contribute to the rate of migraine occurrences. In general, women are more at risk in having migraines due to menstrual period. Some women also note that crying may also lead to migraines. The cure to migraine does not eliminate these triggers, rather addresses their effects so that the person may be exposed to these factors yet may not have this hindering illness.</p>
<p>The best time to seek cure to migraine is when one or more of the following circumstances occur: the migraine sufferer experiences worsening condition, the frequency increases, over-the-counter pain relievers does not help, holistic approaches such as cold or hot compress does not mitigate pain and weakness after migraine events. Like with any illnesses, self-medication is not recommended. Medicines, in general have certain effects that may decrease or increase the condition of migraines.</p>
<p>One way to identify if the person needs acute treatment as a temporary cure to migraine is by making a journal on symptoms and triggers on the migraine episode. The person should try to be as specific or as descriptive as possible. Gathering information is crucial to better understand the migraine. This will also help the doctors to get a better picture of the migraine in order to provide a better and more specific treatment. Each person may have similar or distinct indicators and as such, general treatments may not be as effective to everyone.</p>

<p>Water (H2O) is of course important; more than this, vital of course. It is an oft quoted fact that the average man or woman can survive several days, possibly weeks without solid food. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Unlike anorexia and bulimia, binge eating disorder has been largely ignored by the medical community and by society at large. And yet, according to best estimates, this disorder may affect up to four percent of all Americans. While the figures are at best just educated guesses, it is possible that this disorder could be affecting many more in a more mild form.</p>
<p>Binge eating is classified as periods of episodic excessive overeating. Unlike bulimia however the sufferer does not usually purge after eating. Binge eating can occur on its own or alongside other eating disorders and conditions.</p>
<p><span id="more-476"></span></p>
<p>These eaters are generally compelled to consume huge quantities of food all at once, ignoring feelings of fullness or even nausea and other unpleasant symptoms. Binge eaters tend to have little or no control over this consumption.</p>
<p>Feelings leading to binge eating may include anxiety, stress and emotional negativity. After a binge, however, sufferers of this disorder tend to feel even worse, suffering from feelings of guilt and disgust with themselves. The problem generally accompanies or leads to depression and further anxiety thereby turning binge eating into a vicious cycle.</p>
<p>This tends to be a secretive affair and as such numbers are difficult to gauge. The effects of such binging can lead to the development of other problems including high blood pressure, hypertension, obesity, heart disease and Diabetes. Treatments are generally dependent on sourcing out what exactly is the primary cause of the binges.</p>
<p>There are several known risk factors for this disorders. According to researchers, risk factors for binge eating include:</p>
<p>Age: older adults usually in their 40s and 50s. This is not to say that that young people are unaffected by the disease, as it may be progressive and therefore lead to its discovery later in life even while the symptoms may have begun much earlier.</p>
<p>Other Eating Disorders: People with other eating disorders are at a higher risk for developing binge eating as well. Those people with bulimia or anorexia have a greater chance of developing symptoms of this disorder alongside these disorders.</p>
<p>Dieters: according to experts, people who frequently diet may be at a higher risk for engaging in binge eating. Dieting is a known risk factor for anorexia and bulimia and may also increase the chances of developing unhealthy patterns associated with this disorder.</p>
<p>Psychological Problems: People with high levels of stress, anger, and anxiety or negative emotions such as sadness, depression and worry are at a much higher risk of developing patterns of unhealthy eating including binging.</p>
<p>Sexual Abuse: According to the latest research binge eating can develop in people who have experienced sexual abuse as children.</p>
<p>Societal Expectations: The current obsession with ultra thin models and actresses in the media today has been shown by experts to lead to unhealthy dieting and eating disorders, especially among women but increasingly among men as well. The over valuation of thinness, body shape and appearance can negatively affect people&#8217;s self esteem thereby triggering unhealthy habits, including binge eating.</p>
<p>Biology: Apparently the development of this disorder may be associated with certain genes as well as chemicals in the brain. Appetite regulation is currently being studied b researchers as a means to investigate how these biological processes may affect eating habits.</p>
<p>Jobs: Interestingly, there is some evidence that certain jobs may increase the likelihood of developing binge eating disorder. Sportsmen and women, as well as models seem to have higher percentages of binge eating symptoms. It may also be that those in the food service industry suffer a similar increased risk, however, this is still awaiting further investigation.</p>
<p>The symptoms of binge eating disorder are sometimes difficult for physicians and health care practitioners to detect. Some people with the disorder might refer to it simply as compulsive eating. In many cases, weight might be the only physical sign available to the outside world.</p>
<p>Binges can last anywhere from a matter of minutes to a matter of days. In certain cases, they have consumed upwards of 10 or 20,000 calories during a binge. The average caloric intake is only about 1500-3000 per day, so you can see that binge eating is certainly a disorder to be taken seriously.</p>
<p>While we all have days or times in which we overeat, having a second or third helping of desert, or going a little heavy on the cream sauce, this is different from true binge eating. Nevertheless, if you feel yourself using food to cope with stress, anxiety or other emotions, then you may want to consider finding an alternative means. A good therapist or counsellor should be able to help you deal with these issues without turning to binging. Binging can be a very dangerous disorder, leading to serious health complications. If you are suffering from this disorder or know someone who might be, be sure to seek out medical and/or psychological help before the problem gets worse.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Often it is not enough to jump on a treadmill and pound away the miles and calories at a steady pace and still expect to lose weight week after week after week. In order to lose weight with a workout program, there are certain things that you must do to keep your body working as hard as it did the first week or two. After all, as your body becomes accustomed to the &#8220;regular&#8221; workout you subject it to, it will not have to burn as much energy. This makes sense because with time, your endurance will not only tire you out less, but you will be able to run a little farther, you will not be in as much pain, and you will not sweat nearly as much (keep in mind, however, that it is never wise to keep beating yourself up without your workouts; finding a balance between struggling to get through a workout and flying through a workout is the ideal).</p>
<p>For people who are fanatical about cardio workouts, it is important to keep the exercises fresh and new for your body. This means changing the workout. Here are a few simple ways that you can change workouts to keep your body working as hard on 180 as it was on day 2.</p>
<p><span id="more-474"></span></p>
<p>1. Switch Machines</p>
<p>The easiest way to keep your workouts fresh is to switch your cardio machine. If you are a treadmill runner, consider moving to an elliptical trainer. Switch your cardio machine every 4 to 6 weeks, which is usually how long it takes for your body to get used to one exercise routine to the point where it is no longer fresh enough to keep it working hard.</p>
<p>To keep things interesting, after the end of your second 4 to 6 week routine, switch to a third cardio machine rather than returning to the first one. Depending on your level of fitness, after this third rotation, you could return to the first machine and you will find that your body responds as though it was never on that machine in the first place.</p>
<p>2. Switch Your Intervals</p>
<p>Rather than keeping to a constant workout or pace, change your routine every 2 to 4 weeks. Our bodies will often adapt to a particular routine &#8212; this is where building endurance comes into the picture. People training for a marathon, for example, will train in similar terrain (e.g. more slight uphill elevations for some venues, versus more hilly terrains for others). They do this because their bodies, muscles and heart will adapt to those conditions. Switching the interval sequence of your workouts is one way of keeping the exercise fresh and your body from getting so accustomed to the workout that the blood, sweat and tears doesn&#8217;t even cause your scale to budge.</p>
<p>3. Take a break</p>
<p>Depending on how regularly you workout, taking a break from your routine is a good idea. If you workout every day, allowing for a day of rest is not only essential so that your body does not &#8220;break down&#8221; and leave you drained, but it allows your muscles and heart to not get too comfortable with your daily routine. Ideally, cardio workouts three times per week with a day in between works best. Working out every day at the same cardio exercise will only build up your body&#8217;s endurance and tolerance; the exercise will become easy enough for you and easier for your body as it will not be burning the same energy as it did when you first started.</p>
<p>These tips are great ways for you to keep your workouts fresh and your body working at its optimal insofar as your weight loss goals go. Switching machines, changing your interval training and incorporating a break will insure success with your fitness goals. While this is nothing new, a lot of people often overlook these important tips.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Who said you must lose weight to be healthy? They were dead wrong. It&#8217;s time to realize that you must get healthy in order to lose weight, not the reverse. The diet mentality doesn&#8217;t work, often using recommendations that are boring, restrictive, and unsatisfying, if not downright unhealthy. And chances are, if you&#8217;ve been on diets before, you&#8217;ve lost and regained the same amount of weight over and over.</p>
<p>A newer and better eating plan isn&#8217;t just around the corner; it&#8217;s been programmed inside you since your birth. You have just ignored its warnings and messages all this time. Food is nutrition that your body needs in order to survive, but eating can also be an enjoyable journey into what makes you tick. What you need is a sustainable way of nurturing your body by learning to listen to your body&#8217;s own hunger cues. Then you can make your peace with food, once and for all.</p>
<p><span id="more-473"></span></p>
<p>My philosophy about healthy eating is this: Diets make unrealistic promises based on false hopes, and deprivation always backfires in some way. What does work for health and weight management is to adopt the right attitude about food. To do that, you have to throw out your guilt and look at food for what it is: both necessary nourishment and a source of pleasure. The 3Rs&#8211;Recognize, Reframe, Reclaim&#8211;strategy is great for taking this knowledge and turning it into positive action.</p>
<p>1) RECOGNIZE what&#8217;s going on.<br />
Eating is a necessary biological function, so it makes sense that the mind-body connection is very pronounced when we look at food, weight, eating, and nutrition.</p>
<p>One way to understand your body&#8217;s need is to use the fullness rating scale. It&#8217;ll help you to recognize the connection between body and mind, from both ends of the scale. Before you eat, take a moment to honestly rate your fullness.</p>
<p>- If your rating is a 7 or 8, you&#8217;re not truly hungry. Think about what other factors might be triggering your urge to eat. Are you feeling stressed, bored, nervous, or overtired? Eating won&#8217;t solve any of those problems. Allow yourself to get to the bottom of what you&#8217;re feeling instead of masking the emotion with food.</p>
<p>- If your rating is very low, pay attention. Use the fullness scale throughout the day so that you become aware of your body&#8217;s hunger cues. You can avoid overeating by answering your body&#8217;s need for nourishment before you reach the desperate 0 or 1 on the scale.</p>
<p>When it&#8217;s time to eat, don&#8217;t be afraid you&#8217;ll overdo it. Your body comes equipped with a portion-size measurement system! Look at your palm. Right there is the correct size of a healthy portion of meat. Curious about how much pasta to eat? Just look at the size of your fist. (No, it&#8217;s not that huge bowlful restaurants serve. Ask for a half order, eat part and take the rest home, or split one with a friend. )</p>
<p>2) REFRAME your thoughts about food.<br />
Start by banning the Food Police from your head. Grant yourself a pardon and spring out of food prison&#8211;no parole necessary. Let go of all the unreasonable, guilt-causing diet rules. Remember that</p>
<p>- Being a &#8220;good&#8221; person doesn&#8217;t mean you can only eat &#8220;good&#8221; diet foods. And eating &#8220;bad&#8221; foods, like a piece of chocolate cake, should not propel you into feeling &#8220;bad&#8221; about yourself. When the concept of &#8220;forbidden foods&#8221; no longer exists in your mind, neither will the hold those foods have over you.</p>
<p>- What if you suffer guilt because you&#8217;re a member of the Clean Plate Club? Don&#8217;t let the thought of wasted food force you to eat. Instead, ditch the dinner plate and use a salad plate. You&#8217;ll visualize a lot of food but will in reality be eating less. You can get more food later if you&#8217;re still hungry, but you won&#8217;t overeat if you&#8217;re not. And as for that chocolate cake&#8211;studies show that your taste buds become neutral to the yummy taste in under five bites. You&#8217;ll get no added pleasure from finishing it just because it&#8217;s there. Make a new habit of sharing desserts.</p>
<p>3) RECLAIM the mental and physical health you deserve.<br />
Knowing that you can enjoy what you like removes much of the drama and negative self-talk around food and eating. Reclaim your health by adopting these ideas:</p>
<p>- Your body needs food. Eat when you are hungry, and stop eating when you&#8217;re full. Just have a reality check with your body about your level of hunger to be sure that you are within a healthy, comfortable range.</p>
<p>- Make sure that you like what you are using to nourish your body. Don&#8217;t eat what you don&#8217;t like. Deal?</p>
<p>It sounds simple, and it is. What&#8217;s hard is throwing out the old habits that have kept you trapped for so long. But it&#8217;s a worthy pursuit: You deserve the benefits of good health.</p>
<p>In short, a healthy feeling of self-worth is unconditional; it has nothing to do with your food choice of the day. Take a more loving, forgiving, and compassionate view of yourself and realize that you are doing your best to stay healthy by eating healthy foods as well as foods that you enjoy. Only after you are OK with your food attitude will you begin to see positive changes in your nutrition-related health. The first step: Give yourself permission to feel satisfied and happy.</p>
