Sinusitis treatments include both homeopathic therapies and traditional medicine. The goals of treatment are to: diminish inflammation and improve drainage in the nasal passages, lessen mucus in the nose and lungs, reduce sinus pain and pressure, and resolve any infection that may be present so damage to sinus tissues does not occur.

Drinking water, teas, fruit juices and other beverages keeps the body hydrated and supports the cleansing of the nasal passages. Breathing in steam or hot water vapor (while taking a shower or sitting over a bowl of hot water) several times a day also helps to alleviate symptoms. Menthol and various menthol preparations can also be added to humidifiers and other hot water sources to further loosen mucus and contribute to an overall better breathing experience.

WHY CADR IS NOT ENOUGH

Many air purifier companies actively publicize and market their air purifiers based predominately or sometimes almost exclusively on their Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) numbers. Other Air Purifier companies, while they do collect air flow and circulation data on their air purifiers using many of the same standards prescribed for CADR testing, don’t choose to publicize CADR data since the additional technologies that they incorporate make the CADR number, at best, irrelevant and, at worse, misleading.

Urticaria: Urticaria or hives is a skin rash that usually results from an allergic reaction. The hives can differ in size and shape, tiny pin pricks to bulky welts, but they most often appear as inflamed, itchy bumps and can be found any where on the body. Urticaria that last only a few hours or days before going away is called Acute Urticaria. Hives that persist longer than six weeks are diagnosed as Chronic Urticaria.

Certain foods (eggs, nuts, wheat, and milk) and food additives are often the cause of Acute Urticaria. However, insect bites and stings, and some medicines can also prompt a reaction, whereby a chemical, histamine, is released from cells in the skin’s blood vessels causing a rash or hives.

Over the years I have found that the best way to keep my skin healthy is to use less detergent and to shield my skin from detergent if there is any possibility that there will be contact.

The skin on the scalp is also affected by strong shampoo. I have tried almost every shampoo from the supermarket and the chemist with varying levels of success. By far the best is to purchase shampoo from a salon and to use a fully qualified beauty salon. I found that I react to conditioner much more than shampoo and so I use high quality conditioner on the ends of the hair only.
